Gabbie had her first dance recital on Saturday and oooooohhhh, we were so proud. I have great childhood memories of my recitals and was hoping that she would enjoy her first experience as much as I did. I think it's safe to say that she loved every minute of it!
She tap danced her little heart out--not once but twice--for two different performances. She looked adorable in her costume and SO grown up in makeup. Her entire class did an awesome job thanks to their amazing teacher, Ms. Stacey.
Probably even more than being on stage, Gabbie loved watching the other classes perform (especially the older kids). This dance studio is unique in that it offers different types of classes including several classes for special needs children and options such as "cheer dance" and musical theater (which Gabbie is DYING to take once she's old enough). The recital was very entertaining; we can't wait for next year!
**Watch Gabbie perform her dance at dress rehearsal! But first, don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the blog to pause the music so you can hear the video!

AHHH!!! So cute! I think Gabbie was BY FAR the BEST! I know I'm a little biased, though. She was a little too good at that hop shakin'. Good thing she's not Baptist! hahaha

Absolutely beautiful.
Gabbie was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed the recital (as much as i was able to see). You can't go wrong with a Motown theme.
also, what the school does for the special needs children is incredible and the parents and teachers deserve a great deal of respect. Loved that part of the show as well.
Totally agree, Dad!
I could see you up on the stage as you were as cute as Gabbie.Love dancing is a wonderful thing. Keep dancing,Gabbie. Some of the numbers brought tears-good work, teachers!
