A Bouncy Birthday

Although it was a month ago, Jonah's first birthday party was a [cake-]smashing success! As I mentioned in my last post, we had the party during Tim & Haley's visit which made it extra-special since we never get to celebrate each others' kids' birthdays in person.

We held the party at church to accommodate all the kids and extended family. Just days earlier, my mom bought the kids an AMAZINGLY AWESOME moon bounce which we set up in the back of the sanctuary and let the kids jump to their hearts' content.

My favorite part of each of my kids' first birthdays is watching their first taste of birthday cake. True to their personalities, it was love at first lick for Gabbie as she couldn't stuff the cake in her mouth fast enough; Luke, on the other hand, was much more cautious and took a few small bites before quickly deciding that cake wasn't worth the mess. Jonah's got more of Gabbie's free spirit in him so I knew he'd enjoy it--and he did! I don't think he ate the whole thing but what he did eat, he devoured.

Thanks to all who made Jonah's first birthday so special and happy birthday again to my big boy!

Love that song, "Don't you ever grow up." I'd never heard it before ... brought back many memories! We had 3 also, boy, girl, boy. Our little girl is 30 now and lives and works in Memphis and has just gotten engaged ... finally! :-)

Youngest son is a worship leader. Oldest son is a pastor and working on his PHD.

God is wonderful, and thank you for sharing from your delightful family! Brought this old pastor some much needed warm and cherished memories.

God Bless!
